Wilhelm Gimmi 2018

From 19 April to 1 July 2018 in collaboration with the Wilhelm Gimmi Foundation,
on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its creation.

A life for painting

For its first temporary exhibition, L'Atelier De Grandi has the great pleasure to welcome Wilhelm Gimmi, a respected and admired friend of brothers Italo and Vincent.

We are very honoured to hang on our picture rails an artist who has dedicated his life to painting and has shown a very thoughtful and particularly fertile artistic independence. Recognized in the French capital to the point of belonging to the École de Paris, of national and international renown, this Parisian from Zurich (1908-1932) who came to settle in Chexbres at the beginning of the Second World War (1940-1965) is one of the most remarkable jewels in the profusion of artists who make up our heritage.

The painters Italo and Vincent, around whom L'Atelier De Grandi has set itself the task of bringing together Swiss artists, will be represented alongside Wilhelm Gimmi by drawings and portraits (online exhibition still in preparation).

Our thanks go to the Wilhelm Gimmi Foundation and in particular to its President Richard Aeschlimann and to Camille Jaquier, curator of this exhibition, who, through their kind and very efficient collaboration, have made this exhibition possible.
