Discovery of the collections

The home page gives an overview of the collections, accessible from the "Collections" menu.
The collections are the archives of the works that have been exhibited at L'Atelier De Grandi.
They allow you to consult the works in two ways: a slide show and a search leading to each work documented in detail :

  • The Italo and Vincent De Grandi Collection which contains three exhibitions: only the Founding Exhibition is fully documented.
  • The Wilhelm Gimmi exhibition
  • The exhibition Living in Modernity - still in preparation
  • The Casimir Reymond exhibition

For Wilhelm Gimmi and Casimir Reymond:
- the specific documentation of each work is still in progress
- in the initial state of research (no criteria selected), only the first 6 works are documented.
- for the rest, however, the documentation and initiated by its titles, and the detail of the work can be examined in high definition.
- the periods are indicative, they do not represent a strict chronology.

First visit the Founding Exhibition Italo and Vincent De Grandi, as it is fully documented:
- by clicking on the button "View exhibition scroll", you will see a slide show of the works which follows the order of hanging of the scenography created for this exhibition. The slideshow also contains some information about the works
- by clicking on the "Search works" button, you have an image gallery of the works also in the order of hanging, in which you can search according to different criteria, such as the artist who created the work, the period of his career, the genre (portrait, landscape etc.), the type of the work, the date of the exhibition, the date of the exhibition, the date of the exhibition, the date of the exhibition, the date of the exhibition, the date of the exhibition, the date of the exhibition, the date of the exhibition, the date of the exhibition, the date of the exhibition, the date of the exhibition, the date of the exhibition, the date of the exhibition, the date of the exhibition, the date of the exhibition, the date of the exhibition, the date of the exhibition, the date of the exhibition, the date of the exhibition, the date of the exhibition, the date of the exhibition, the date of the exhibition, the date of the exhibition, the date of the exhibition, the date of the exhibition, the date of the exhibition, the date of the exhibition:), the technique or the place of creation
- by clicking on the image of a work, such as the first "The Ancestor" (or on its title), you access the detail page of this work, which you can then see enlarged, with the possibility of observing it in high definition, either by dragging your mouse over it (computer), or by clicking on its thumbnail to see it in high definition, which you can enlarge with 2 fingers (mobile).
- on the left of the image (computer) or below it (mobile) you have the documentation of the work on a column (scrollable by mouse wheel or swipe on mobile): at the very top, its title - with a return arrow towards the search - and its data sheet.
Below, you have the documentation according to 2 chapters:
- the "Artistic characteristics", the subject, the composition, the technique, the palette and the light
- then the "Context", the period of the artist, the artistic current, the artists in relation, the historical events and the facts of society.

Then, we encourage you to share your opinion on the content of this work:
- either by sharing this work on your social networks (facebook, twitter, pinterest and watsapp)
- or by leaving a comment on this particular work, by sharing your impressions, suggestions or criticisms

You can see that the reading of all this content can be done on two levels:
- either purely for the pleasure of the eyes, with the slide show and a minimum of explanations
- or, for those who like to discover how to better see the works, understand their genesis and context, by reading the sections of the documentation, continuously or in leaps and bounds...

We wish you a lot of fun while discovering the collections!
