Frank Martin
Trio on Irish Polular Melodies
(1925)
extract
The premiere of the Trio for Archduke Rudolph of Austria on April 11, 1814 was one of Beethoven's last public appearances at the piano, even though he was almost completely deaf.
In 1925, at the request of a wealthy American, Frank Martin composed this trio, full of joy and rhythmic energy, with the three instruments of the trio in succession.
Founded in 2006, the trio A Piacere explores with passion the vast repertoire for piano trio, composed of Julien De Grandi, violin, Sébastien Breguet, cello, and Alexandre Rion, piano.
Among its performances, the trio A Piacere had the chance to play at the Schubertiades 2007, at the 20 hours of music in Romont and at the Bergère Concerts in Corseaux. He also performed in the concerts of the association of "Friends of Denise Bidal" in Lonay as well as in the concerts of "ACRISCO" in Crissier.
Since 2016 Arthur Guignard, cello, succeeded Sebastien Breguet and Roh Fei Tong, piano, replaced Alexandre Rion.
In July 2017 the trio was invited to play in the summer concert series at the Lutheran Church in Geneva and then in 2020 it plays two concerts at the Atelier De Grandi museum in Corseaux.
In 2021, the trio is renamed Con Piacere Trio.

Arthur Guignard - Cello
Born in Geneva to a pianist mother and a flutist father, he was successively a student of Denis Guy and Stephan Riekhoff, 1st Cello Soloist at the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande. At the age of 16, he was admitted to the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique de Genève in the class of Daniel Grosgurin, whose rigorous teaching enabled him to obtain the Teaching Diploma and the Concert Diploma with distinction.

In duo with pianist Roh Fei Tong, he won two international first prizes in Italy.
